Regardless of your role in the food supply chain – retailer, cold store operator, frozen food distributor or manufacturer – food safety is, and should be, top of mind.

Nothing can damage a brand more than a spoiled product, or worse, a public recall due to contamination.

Regulatory compliance is non-negotiable

Cold stores must adhere to government mandated food safety requirements around temperature control, batch, lot, use-by and shelf life as well as catch-weight, variable weight and blast freezing.

These compliance rules are built right into Microlistics Chilled and Enterprise.  These rules help ensure that staff adheres to regulations and food safety remains a top priority.

NEW JERSEY - THURSDAY 21 3:00PM

There is no comparing apples with oranges

When it comes to zone and product temperatures you can’t compare apples to oranges.  Each perishable product will have distinct temperature and humidity storage needs.

Cold stores need a clear definition of temperature zones and control the products that are stored within them to ensure maximum freshness.

Automating directing picking around date-level will also ensure product freshness and customer satisfaction.

BIRMINGHAM - TUESDAY 16 10:00AM

Track and traceability is a mandated requirement

In order to react quickly to a recall, Cold Store operators need to track and trace shipments, by lot and batch numbers to the storage zone, shelf and pallet. Furthermore, track the product further along in the supply chain to the truck, pallet, carton, or receiving customer.

With Microlistics, when a recall occurs, you will be able to locate the contaminated product in your inventory, in transit, and in customer hands at remove it.

BRISBANE - SATURDAY 3 7:00AM

Accurately account for a recall

Recalls are labour intensive, and it is critical to account for the costs of the recall properly. Track recalled stock back to the originating vendors or clients through intermingled stock locations. Beyond that, accurately document the actual labour costs of enacting the recall to seek proper reimbursement through auditing and validation of material records and time-sheets.
